Former Georgia Southwestern baseball player Raymond "Randy" Davis passed away on Monday (Nov. 1) at the age of 33.
Davis was a two-time Georgia Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the Hurricanes in 1996.
From April 8-14, 1996, he went 3-0 with a 1.29 earned run average. He pitched seven innings, all in relief, allowed one earned run and did not surrender a hit.
The next week, he received the award again after picking up two saves in three appearances, striking out four in 5 2/3 innings of work and allowing one earned run.
He graduated from Lee County (Ga.) High School in 1994.
