Take me out to the ballgame
AMERICUS - Hurricane fans are invited to campus on Friday (Apr. 1) from 4:30-7:30 p.m. to enjoy a tailgate party hosted by the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Americus prior to the Georgia Southwestern softball and baseball games.
The GSW softball team hosts No. 4 North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader at 5 p.m. The 30th-ranked Southwestern baseball team gets started an hour later when it meets No. 5 Georgia College for the first game of a three-game weekend series at 6 p.m.
The GSW mascot, Surge, presented by Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, will be visiting both ballgames between 5:30-6:30 p.m. So, fans of all ages are welcome to attend.
Come out early to support the 'Canes, tailgate with friends and enjoy free food while supplies last. The tent will be set up between the tennis courts and baseball field.
