It's time to start thinking basketball. The regular season tips off in less than three weeks. So join us in the Storm Dome on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. for Almost Midnight Madness.
So what is Almost Midnight Madness? Well, celebrations takes place each October on campuses around the country marking the start of basketball season. Many take place at around midnight on the first day of practice. We're kicking off this year's basketball campaign on Thursday evening as part of the GSW Almost Midnight Madness celebration.
A faculty/staff vs. students basketball game, contests, along with performances by the dance team and cheerleading squad, will lead up to introductions of the men's and women's basketball teams. The annual "spot shot" competition follows featuring a Hurricane and Lady Hurricane representative from each class teaming up in a brief competition. The grand finale will be a pair of half-court heaves by GSW students for free books next semester.
