The Georgia Southwestern athletics department unveiled the GSW Baseball and Softball Buddies programs today.  

At select Hurricanes home games, a youth team (ages 5 to 13) will be recognized as the Hurricane Buddies team of the night presented by McDonald's.

All team members will receive a game ticket, team photo for autographs, McDonald's treat, an individual introduction and the opportunity to stand on-field with Southwestern players during the opening ceremonies of the game at Hurricane or Lady ‘Canes Field.

There is no charge to be involved.  Teams are simply selected on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Coaches or parents can sign-up their youth team by completing and submitting the online form (baseball click here / softball click here).  Both forms are also available on each team's home page at www.gswcanes.com.  Interested parties my also contact Keith Michlig at (229) 931-2217 for more information.

With some youth teams not yet assigned or playing in 2009, parents are encouraged to bring last year's team out to the ballpark.

The first baseball date available is Saturday, March 7.  The first softball date available is Saturday, March 14.

Both teams finish the home portion of their schedules in mid-April.
