Georgia Southwestern State University named Matt Ensor its Assistant Sports Information Director for the 2011-12 academic year. Ensor comes to Americus after spending the previous year as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Communications office at Virginia Commonwealth University.

He will be the primary media contact for the Hurricanes’ men’s soccer, women’s basketball and softball teams. His other responsibilities include assisting with the sports information needs of all of other teams and the day-to-day operations of the Sports Information office.

While at VCU, Ensor was the secondary media contact for the men’s basketball program’s historic run to the Final Four of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. He accompanied the team to all their tournament sites in Dayton, Chicago, San Antonio and Houston. Ensor also assisted with many of VCU’s other sports programs during his time in Richmond, including women's basketball, both soccer teams, volleyball, and field hockey.

A native of Eugene, Oregon, Ensor earned a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon in 2009. He earned his master’s degree from the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU in 2011.
