Coach Morgan receives All-Decade honor
Assistant baseball coach Robert Morgan was recently named to the Gulf South Conference East Division All-Decade Second Team for his exploits as a player at Valdosta State University.
Morgan was a member of the VSU baseball team 2004-2005. As a
junior, he batted .436 with nine home runs and set
the NCAA Division II record for doubles in a season (32). Morgan
was named Team MVP, First Team All-Region, First Team
All-American, and Gulf South Conference East Division Player of
the Year
As a senior, Morgan batted .383 and was named Team MVP and First Team All-Conference despite having his season cut short due to injury. Later, he was named to the Valdosta State All-Time Team as a shortstop.
Morgan is in his third season as assistant baseball coach at Georgia Southwestern.
