Providing an Opportunity

AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern baseball program, led by head coach Bryan McLain, made a donation recently to the Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department to assist local families with this spring's youth baseball registration fees.

GSW held its 9th Annual Fall Classic Blue-White Baseball Series at Hurricane Stadium in early November as the traditional culmination of fall practice, with the losing team hosting a car wash. Over the past three years, all proceeds of the car wash have been donated to the recreation department.

Hurricane players Chase Young, Jarrod Taylor and Justin Lott, presented parks and recreation director Tim Estes with this year's check from GSW baseball.
