Foster comes to GSW from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich. where he served as a graduate assistant since 2011. At Concordia he worked with position players on defense and hitting, spent time recruiting and coordinated the strength and conditioning program for Cardinal position players.
A native of Danville, Ind., Foster was a two-sport athlete at NCAA Division III Anderson (Ind.) University. He was a four-year member of the Ravens baseball team and played three years of basketball. His best season on the diamond came in 2007 where he set career highs in batting average (.316) and runs batted in (15). On the hardwood, the 6-foot-4 Hoosier appeared in a personal-best 25 games as a senior in 2008-09. He graduated from Anderson in 2009.
Foster spent the past two summers as head coach of the Adirondack (N.Y.) Trail Blazers of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
