The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team picked up their second win of the season with a 62-48 win over Carver Bible College at the Storm Dome on Tuesday evening.
The 48 points by Carver is the lowest by a GSW opponent in two seasons. The Hurricanes defeated UNC Pembroke 63-41 on February 23, 2008.
Southwestern never trailed on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes built an 11-point lead in the first half (32-21) and opened it up to as many as 23 points in the second half (60-37).
GSW finished the game shooting 38.8 percent from the floor (19-of-49).
Carver was held to 27.3 percent (15-of-55).
Led by Chris Rawls' 10-for-10 night at the charity stripe, GSW finished a season-best 77.3 percent for the game (17-of-22).
Southwestern won the battle of the boards with a 45-33 rebounding advantage, but committed six more turnovers (18-12).
Rawls led a trio of Hurricanes in double-digits with a game-high 18 points to go with nine rebounds. Evan Mobley chipped in 14 points and Marcus Scott added 13. Dannie Hunt pulled down a career-high nine rebounds.
Marcus Fulks led Carver with 14 points. Corey Evans scored 12 points and Terry Charles finished with 10.
GSW (2-5) hosts Clearwater Christian on Saturday at 2 p.m.
