AMERICUS — Phillip Brown became the third player on Tuesday to be named Peach Belt Player of the Week for a second time.
Brown is the second — joining Francis Marion's Liki Turner — as the only players to be named POW in consecutive weeks.
The Hurricanes won three games last week — and all by double-digits — as they won at Georgia College and then took care of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke at home.
Brown averaged 13 points and 10.6 rebounds in the three wins. He has five double-doubles in his last seven games, including a 13-point, 14-rebound night as the Hurricanes beat GCSU for the first time.
He had 17 points and eight rebounds against Francis Marion and nine points and 10 rebounds against UNC Pembroke.
Brown is ranked in the top three in both scoring and rebounding in the conference, is second in field-goal percentage and fourth in blocked shots.
