JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Christian Laettner Basketball Academy announced it will be hosting a three day basketball camp this summer in partnership with the athletic department of Georgia Southwestern State University July 23rd through the 25th.
The academy will provide a camp with skills-focused sessions based on foundational concepts in passing, ball handling and offensive and defensive strategies. The event is open to players of all skill levels.
Laettner, a two-time national champion at Duke University, and former NBA All-Star and Olympic Dream Team Gold Medalist, expressed his enthusiasm over the clinic. "We are looking forward to partnering with a great college program there in Americus. Jaclyn (Donovan) has done a great job in building the programs at GSW. We're looking forward to putting on a great camp for the kids of the community and hope to add to what they are doing with this special event."
Donovan, Athletic Director at GSW, said, "We are excited about the opportunity to partner up with Christian Laettner to bring such a great event to Americus. Our summer camp offerings continue to grow, and I have no doubt that the Christian Laettner Basketball Academy will be a hit with kids of all ages."
Christian Laettner Basketball Academy, based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL provides a fun, learning environment for basketball players who want to improve their game. Additionally, the academy provides enhanced training for teams, and travels nationwide to the schools campuses. Both team and individual instruction is available to ages 6 to 18 and is provided by Christian Laettner, the former Olympic basketball gold medal winner, and his personally trained staff. All workouts focus on skill development and is geared towards helping players improve their ball handling and passing, while increasing their understanding of offensive and defensive concepts.
Laettner will personally lead the camp sessions, with camp hours from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration is open to the public, ages 6 to 18, with the camp held at the GSW gymnasium.
