Hurricanes Climb Three Spots In Coaches Poll To No. 18

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team moved up three spots to No. 18 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches/NCAA Division II poll released Tuesday afternoon.

The Hurricanes are ranked for the third straight week. GSW entered the poll at No. 24 on Dec. 3 and has moved up three spots in each of the last two polls.

GSW and No. 4 Florida Southern are the only D-II schools off to a 10-0 start.

The Hurricanes are one of two Peach Belt Conference members currently ranked in the Top 25. Joining Southwestern is No. 10 Montevallo.

Southwestern has earned a ranking in the national poll in three of the last four seasons while being ranked for a total of 11 weeks.

The Hurricanes are back in action on Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. contest in the Storm Dome against Fort Valley State.
