AMERICUS, Ga.- Senior Brandon Price scored a career high 25 points for the Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team in Tuesday night's win over Auburn Montgumery in the Storm Dome.
GSW is now 1-1 to start the season while AUM is 0-1.
AUM made the first basket and led by three for the first two minutes until Price made two free throws and a three-pointer to take the lead for GSW at the 16:28 mark. AUM tied it up four more times and took a one point lead with eight minutes left in the first half.
Corbyn Jackson heated it up for GSW starting with a dunk and then a lay up. Price put in another three-pointer followed by Tyrone Wooten with a lay up and a dunk. Devin Watson had a lay up followed by a free throw from Wooten and Colt Yawn topped it off with a steal and a lay up to end the first half up 30-15.
AUM outscored GSW in the second half 34-32 and even came within nine points of the Hurricanes with two minutes left. Price scored 12 points in the second half to keep GSW afloat and help them take the 13 point victory.
Price went 6-6 in free throws and was 5-8 from behind the arc. Wooten scored 11 points and picked up 9 rebounds. Watson recorded 8 points and nine rebounds.
The Hurricanes are away Saturday to play Albany State at 7:30 p.m.
