'Canes struggle in tough conditions

The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team finished eighth in the nine-team field on Tuesday at the AASU Pirate Invitational in Savannah, Ga.  Sophomore Craig Gibson (74-74=148) finished tied for 13th overall in the individual standings to lead the Hurricanes. 

GSW moved up one spot from their ninth place start on Monday, while improving 11 strokes on day two.

The 54 hole tournament was limited to 36 holes due to rain Monday morning. 

Rounding out the individual scoring for GSW, junior Chris Hall (78-74=152) tied for 29th amongst the 54 golfers in the field; while senior Tyler Williams (80-80=160) tied for 45th place, senior Dustin Chapman improved from day one shooting (87-77=164) finished 50th and junior Reese Moseley (84-82=166) tied for 52nd.

Flagler College (287-290=577) won their second title of the spring season, while host Armstong finished second by one stroke.

Ben Lasso from Queens University of Charlotte won the individual title with a 4-under (73-67=140).
