The Georgia Southwestern golf team finished tied for 10th out of 15 teams at the rain-shortened Jay Jennison Memorial tournament in St. Augustine, Fla. on Tuesday. Play was suspended Monday at the Palencia Club due to inclement weather and GSW finished Round 1 on Tuesday morning, along with the final round. The event was originally scheduled for 54 holes.
USC Beaufort took first place with a score of 592 (293-299). The host of the tournament, Flagler College, finished second with a score of 593 (301-292). Other notables were 25th-ranked Valdosta State posting a score of 595 (304-291), good enough for third. Finishing fourth was Armstrong Atlantic who shot a 600 (305-295), and Montevallo with a sixth place finish and a score of 612 (307-305).
Individually for GSW, Nate Gahman posted a team-best 149 (77-72), good enough for a 13th-place finish. Finishing tied for 28th, was Craig Gibson who shot a 153 (78-75) for the tournament. J.P. Griffin finished one stroke behind Gibson, 154 (79-75), and tied for 32nd. Rounding out the scoring for the 'Canes was Reese Mosely and John Wilson Gordon with scores of 164 (80-84) and 166 (81-85), respectively
