The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Ward makes his third appearance as a PBC All-Academic honoree. The Eastbourne, England native has played in all nine tournaments this season. Last year Ward was the recipient of the 2015-16 Peach Belt Elite 15 Award, named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar list by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Second Team PBC All-Conference. He was also named to the 2015-16 PBC All-Academic Team and a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar.
Johnston picks up his first career PBC All-Academic Honorable Mention this season. The Port Seton, Scotland native has played in five tournaments this season for the Hurricanes.Last year Johnston was named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar list by the Golf Coaches Association of America and was named PBC Presidential Honor Roll Bronze Scholar.
