A pair of Hurricane student-athletes, Sylvia Elkins and Victor Pinones-Haltenhoff, were recently awarded James Deriso Scholarships by the GSW School of Business. Both recipients were recommended for the prestigious honor by business department faculty.

The Peach Belt Conference has announced that 1,079 student-athletes have been named to the Presidential Honor Roll from the league office in Augusta. A total of 62 GSW student-athletes earned the honor in 2009-10, a nine percent increase from last year's total.

The Georgia Southwestern Department of Athletics recently honored its student-athletes at the annual end of the year athletic banquet in the Storm Dome.
