7th Inning ASU Rally Ends Lady Canes Season
Albany State scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two for a 12-11 win and the doubleheader sweep of GSW. The Lady Hurricanes finish the season 19-29.

Long Ball Lifts Lady Canes on Senior Day
The Georgia Southwestern softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Brewton-Parker College on Tuesday afternoon at Lady Cane Field.
The Lady Hurricanes bats were silenced in game one 4-1. However, a pair of two-run home runs by GSW in the third inning led to a six-run frame and paved the way for a comfortable 9-1 victory in the nightcap.

Canes Split With Albany State
The GSW softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Albany State on Saturday afternoon at Lady Cane Field.
The two games played out on different ends of the spectrum. Game one was a two hour and 40 minute affair that saw 29 hits and 17 runs in 11 innings. In the end, the visiting Lady Rams were victorious 10-7. That was followed by a one hour and 15 minute game two that saw both pitchers combined to scatter nine hits as the Lady Canes won 2-1.

#11 Valdosta State Too Much For GSW
The visiting Blazers, ranked #11 in Division II, defeated Georgia Southwestern in both games of a doubleheader at Lady Cane Field in Americus on Tuesday evening. A six-run third inning doomed the Hurricanes in game one as Valdosta State won 7-5. VSU socked five home runs in game two to coast to the 11-2 victory.

Lady Canes Sweep Lander
Georgia Southwestern softball coach Eddie Ward said his team hasnt worked a lot with the bunt steal this season. Senior Jessi Croft doesnt even remember hearing it called in practice. But Ward called it on Saturday in the Lady Hurricanes second game against Lander, and it worked to perfection as Cherelle Pullen scored from second base on Tiffany Milstids bunt for a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth. After Lander tied the game in the sixth, it went into extra innings and Kassi Reneau drove in the winning run in the eighth to lift GSW to a doubleheader sweep. The Lady Hurricanes won both games by 2-1 scores.

Lady Canes Drop a Pair to Augusta State
It took 12 innings to decide the winner of game one between Augusta State and GSW Wednesday afternoon. In the end, the host Jaguars prevailed 2-1. Game two of the Peach Belt Conference matchup was shortened to five innings due to inclement weather. That was good news for ASU, who had manufactured two runs in the bottom half of the fifth to walk away with the 2-0 victory.

Canes Roll Against Wesleyan
Twelve was the magic number for the Georgia Southwestern Lady Canes softball team on Monday evening as they rolled past Wesleyan College 12-7 and 12-3.

GSW Softball Has Successful Early Signing Period
Georgia Southwestern State University Head Coach Eddie Ward announced the signing of four Georgia high school seniors during the early signing period. These players will be joining the Lady Hurricanes roster in the fall of 2008.
