Softball Welcomes Nine Newcomers For 2015 Season

AMERICUS – Georgia Southwestern head softball coach Eddie Ward has announced his 2014 recruiting class. The Lady Hurricanes will add nine new faces to their roster for the 2015 season. The list of signees includes seven true freshmen and two players with previous collegiate softball experience.

The newcomers will look to help the team improve its 26-win season in 2014, the second-most victories posted during the program's NCAA era (since 2007).

Coach Ward and the Lady Hurricanes open the 2015 campaign on Feb. 7 at Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga.

Finished her sophomore season with a 17-7 record and a 2.51 ERA...led NWF pitching staff in wins and strikeouts while appearing in 29 games...helped NWF post a 39-17 overall record

Savannah Carlise

Junior pitcher from Fortson, Ga...transferring from Darton State College

Finished her sophomore season with an 8-2 record while throwing 61.2 innings...also hit .311 with four home runs in only 61 at bats...helped Darton post a 46-12 overall record and a 19-1 mark in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association
