GSW connected on one of their first twelve shots, yet only trailed by a point five minutes into the game. GCSU eventually built a 10 point lead at the eight minute mark (20-10), but the Lady Hurricanes chipped away and went into the break down by three (29-26).

GCSU (10-5, 5-3 PBC) built the lead back to nine with 11:05 left in the game. However, Southwestern made another charge and trimmed the lead to two on three different occasions, the last being after a Brandi Burris three pointer with 12 seconds remaining.
