Paced by freshman Brittney Hill's four-goal performance, the Lady Hurricanes defeated Wesleyan College 8-0 on Monday night.
GSW led 4-0 at the break and tacked on four goals in the second half for the victory.
Sophomore Stephanie Patrylo scored her first two goals of the season, junior Elizabeth Keller added a goal and freshman Becky Atkins rounded out the scoring with her first collegiate goal. Hill and Keller contributed assists along with freshman Kalila Lincoln and two from freshman Alyssa Goodwin.
GSW outshot the Pioneers 58-1 and held a 33-0 shots on goal advantage.
Senior Lindsey Richardson recorded the shutout in only her second career collegiate start at goalkeeper.
Several school records were broken, including: most goals by GSW in a game (8), largest margin of victory (8), first four-goal performance by a Lady Cane (Hill), most shots on goal (33), most points by GSW in a single game (22) and most assists in a game (6).
Monday's game also pushed the Lady ‘Canes to the top for team wins (5), goals (23) and assists (14) in a season with two games to play.
GSW (5-11-1) is back home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match with UNC Pembroke.
