COLUMBUS - The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team surrendered all three of Columbus State's goals in the first half on Wednesday evening in a 3-0 loss at the Walden Soccer Complex.
GSW dropped its third-straight match to fall to 2-7-1 overall and 0-5 in the Peach Belt Conference while the 10th-ranked Cougars improved to 10-1, 4-1 PBC after winning its fifth-straight contest. CSU has won all seven meetings between the two schools.
Kayla Brown opened the scoring in the 21st minute for the Cougars when she scored off a dump off on a corner kick.
CSU added a second goal in the 32nd minute when Ashley Miller's shot hit the post and bounced in.
Minutes later, Shea Wilby completed the scoring with her goal at the 36:01 mark.
The numbers from the match heavily favored the home team as CSU outshot GSW on goal, 14-1, and held a 14-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Bahri stayed busy for GSW between the pipes as she saved 11 shots in the contest. Despite missing two games early in the season, Bahri now sits second in the PBC with 60 saves this fall. Mary Mancin did not have to stop a shot for CSU in the first half. Meosha Hatcher saved one in the second for the Cougars.
Southwestern hosts North Georgia for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday.
