AUGUSTA - The Lady Hurricanes cross country team finished in fifth place on Saturday at the Jaguar Invitational, hosted by Augusta State, at Blanchard Woods Park.
Junior Juawana Stinger led the way for GSW, finishing the 6,000-meter race 33rd with a time of 31:20.50.
Katy York, Britney Lewis, Krystal Thomas and Laura Southwell took the 35th-38th slots.
With 21 points, Barry University easily outpointed Florida Tech (60) for the team title. Augusta State (71), USC Aiken (151) and GSW (179) rounded out the top five.
Courtney Cooper from Barry crossed the finish line first with a time of 24:41.80, followed by teammate Jennifer Cook at 25:08.30. Barry had four runners finish in the top seven.
GSW travels to Columbus on October 10 to compete in the CSU Cougar Invitational.
