Another strong showing for GSW runners

The Lady Hurricanes cross country team finished in fourth place on Saturday morning at the eight-team Cougar Invitational, hosted by Columbus State University, in Smiths Station, Ala.  

Casi McDonald led the way, finishing the two mile race 14th out of 56 participants with a time of 13:15.35.

Kelsey Baker crossed the line in 23rd (13:38.78), seconds ahead of Mollie McGowan and Katy York who finished back-to-back in 26th (13:50.56) and 27th (14:03.74), respectively. Leady Cuellar took 31st (14:24.84), while Becky Atkins finished a few spots behind in 42nd (15:23.04).

With 21 points, host Columbus State finished ahead of Clayton State (47) and Darton College (60) for the team title. 

Brittney Skiles from Columbus State crossed the finish line first with a time of 11:13.44, followed by teammate Naomi Tanui at 11:19.71. 

GSW wraps up the 2010 season on November 6 at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Evans, Ga.
