AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team tied its program record for wins in a season with seven by securing a 2-0 non-conference victory over Middle Georgia State University on Tuesday evening at Hurricane Field. 

Lucia Bustamante found Jocelyn Ramos at the right post with a long pass across the 18-yard box in the 50th minute for the first goal of the match. It was Ramos' fourth goal fo the season and Bustamante's third assist. A beautiful header from Ella Moody (4) at the top of the 18-yard box in the 65th minute caught the Middle Georgia goalkeeper out of position and bounced into the back of the net for the final score. The lead pass by Sydney Weslowski was her third assist of the season.     

The GSW defense turned in its sixth shutout of the fall. Goalkeeper Alana Beddow made three saves to post the clean sheet.

Seniors Kaylee Hodges, Chloe Iuliano and Emily Davis were honored in a ceremony prior to kickoff.  

The Lady Hurricanes travel to Milledgeville, Ga., Saturday to face Georgia College & State University (7-6-3, 3-3-2 PBC) in the regular season finale at 1 p.m. with conference tournament seeding contingent on the outcome for both schools.
