AMERICUS - A converted header off a corner kick by Georgia College with 14 seconds remaining in the first half would prove to be enough as the Bobcats defeated Georgia Southwestern, 3-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference action at Hurricane Field.
Kacey McInerney led Georgia College (8-6-2, 5-3-2 PBC) with a goal and an assist.
GC finished with a 13-0 shots on goal advantage and 8-0 margin in corner kicks.
GSW keeper Vanne Lucke saved 10 shots. Jessica Catapano and Taylor Cornelius took a half apiece between the pipes for GC and neither had to make a stop in the contest.
The Lady Hurricanes have been shutout in 13 consecutive matches.
Southwestern (0-16-1, 0-10-1 PBC) hosts Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to wrap up the 2013 season.
