MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia Southwestern men's cross country team returned to action Friday evening at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College & State University, where the Hurricanes placed 10th in the team standings. Augusta captured the team title with 28 points.
Michael Korfhage highlighted the day for GSW by clocking a personal-best time of 35:14.26. He finished 95th overall in the 8K field, continuing his steady improvement through the fall season.
Leading the way for the Hurricanes was Graham Harrod, who crossed in 30:20.00 to place 60th overall. He was followed closely by Joseph Esco in 83rd with a time of 33:10.02, and Trey Reid, who finished 86th in 33:15.82. Korfhage came in next, and Gerona Williams rounded out the GSW scoring five with a time of 42:32.65 (114th).
As a team, Georgia Southwestern tallied 309 points to secure a top-10 finish in the 13-team field.
The Hurricanes return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Clark Atlanta University Panther Cross Country Invitational as they continue preparations for the season-ending Peach Belt Conference Championship.
